Hi Friends!

Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite images from Elizabeth and Conrad’s summer wedding at The Mill at Fine Creek. This was such a beautiful, sunny day filled with so much joy and laughter!

Tiffany was the lead planner on this wedding day and she did an amazing job overseeing the setup, corralling the bridal party and keeping the day moving on schedule.

The Planning

The unique thing about the planning process for this wedding was that I mainly worked with just the Mother of the Bride. Elizabeth’s sweet mom, Jane, had her mother plan her own wedding, so in keeping with tradition, she did this for Elizabeth! They are the sweetest family!

I started working with Jane over a year in advance, and she was so on top of everything. The process was smooth from start to finish! Jane was fantastic about providing feedback quickly, making decisions, and keeping it all in perspective. We would consult Elizabeth on the overall look and feel of the wedding, such as color palette and things she liked and didn’t like about other weddings she’d attended in the past.

What a special mother-daughter duo! They got along so well and were so respectful and open-minded with each other.

Elizabeth is one of the most laid-back brides I’ve ever had! She completely trusted her mom and me to plan a beautiful wedding day for her and her fiancé, Conrad. She wanted a lush, garden-inspired casual affair that would provide a lovely backdrop for a celebration with family and friends. I think we accomplished just that!

The Wedding Day

Elizabeth and her girls met at The Mill the morning of the wedding to get ready. They had some breakfast goodies, mimosas and spent the first part of the day chatting while getting their hair and makeup done.

Around 3:00 pm, the ladies were dressed, and Elizabeth had her First Look with her sweet dad. I adore these photos of her with her parents!

Meanwhile, the guys were having their own getting-ready party in the cottage on The Mill’s grounds. This was such a fun group!

Before guests were due to arrive, Tiffany worked with the photography team to get portraits of the bridal party individually since Elizabeth and Conrad didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony.

I love these dusty blue bridesmaid dresses! They are such a great color on every skin tone and depending on the lighting, sometimes they take on a more grey hue and other times they lean towards sage green. The flow and movement of the dresses gave me all the ethereal vibes for this garden-inspired wedding!

How sweet are these precious flower girls?!
Elizabeth’s Justin Alexander gown was stunning!

The Ceremony

Elizabeth and Conrad exchanged vows on the lawn, with the historic stone gristmill as their backdrop. The Proper Petal created sweet aisle markers with trailing ivory ribbon and adorned the large wreath with matching florals.

The Mill is such a beautiful location in and of itself. There is very little you have to add to make it any more perfect than it already is– just enough to make it special and unique for each couple’s wedding!

For a bride looking for an outdoor wedding with enchanted garden vibes, this is the place for you! It’s not fussy, but perfectly natural and elegant in its own way. There is so much inspiration here from the creek area to the ruins, gardens, weeping willow trees and charming cottage.

Jane and Elizabeth wanted to only enhance the beauty of The Mill’s lawn, being careful not to detract from the beauty that’s already there. We added just a few touches and let the rest speak for itself!

The Reception

We brought the lushness and greenery of The Mill’s grounds inside for the reception. The Proper Petal did a beautiful job creating these green and blush centerpieces atop a pale pink linen from The Mill’s collection.

There were plenty of sweet options for guests to choose from with an assortment of cupcakes from Pearl’s and a small cutting cake for the bride and groom. These sweet treats are as decedent as they are pretty, and they’re a Richmond staple!

It was such a joy to work with this family!

Elizabeth and Conrad recently welcomed a baby girl, Maisy, into the world and I could not be happier for them and their growing family. Wishing the Bashaws a lifetime of love and happiness!

Much Love,

Jamie
